Sure it was.  How incredibly convenient.<sarcasm mode off>

Too easy to check--just call the phone company repair office and ask what their logs show. Same with the power company that services Elk City.

In addition, IIRC phone service isn't on the same circuit as the power lines, so there wouldn't be any "busy" signal going on if his lines were out as the radio hosts said--it would simply ring with no answer, with a possible message about all circuits being busy after the extent of such an outage was determined.

Of course, it could always have been a UFO (G).

I already emailed him, and he claims that the power and telephone service in Elk City, OK was taken out by thunder storms.  There were some storms moving through western OK that night,  (It was raining here so I checked the regional radar online) but there was nothing that looked severe.

What a surprise.

I'm starting to think that we're tipping our hand too early when we fax, call or email the hosts/producers of these radio programs. It appears that the guests are getting wind of what's up, then pulling a vanishing act at airtime in order to duck our highly inconvenient questions. Happened before with Greer, now with Hickman.

BTW, I believe that I will be emailing Hickman again off his site, asking what happened to him on the Pippen show.

Might be mildly interesting to hear how he intends to spin out of this one.

Hickman claims on his site that he is some form of consultant to a new Sci-Fi channel version of "In Search Of.."

Since he has finally ID'ed it as Sci-Fi channel (and NOT FOX as he originally stated on his web site), I think I'll drop by and mention the Lawton stuff to them in an email....I wonder if they'll care?
