I think this info might be useful to ratchet up the paranoia level a bit.
What say you?

I think on my next reply to Ben I will just casually call
him Darryl and see what happens. I'm hoping he will go
ballistic. Maybe all of us who reply to him should try it?
On a somewhat related issue, while reading a FAQ on another
net kook, I found a reference to Frager/Wholeflaffer's real
name. It may be Jerry Kolnick. The FAQ is at:
http://www.wilhelp.com/brad/
A quick web search on that name produces some references to
a Jerry Kolnick in Portland, OR. Frager/Wholeflaffer has
posted via Portland area ISPs over the years. Food for
thought.

Whoa!
The IP number is part of a range of 8 numbers- I think these posts
are coming through Aladdin Systems. Darryl happens to be the
admin contact.
My guess is that our Ben Hogan, is an employee of Aladdin- not
Darryl.
If you need to drop a hint, ask him about his magic carpet.

You could be right. I doubt old Bennie is bright enough to be an
admin.

I'll rethink my strategy.

But remember the info that Ugly Bob found on Darryl Lovato at
http://dmoz.org/profiles/dlovato.html
"Darryl is a co-founder and VP/Cheif Technical Officer of Aladdin Systems,
Inc, makers of the StuffIt compression line. When he is not working on new
compression algorithms or designing new internet utilities, he can be found
spending time with his family, hunting, fishing or flying private planes"
Remember how Ben said he was a pilot? That and his email address is
bearhunterman@h... Sounds like Ben and Darryl are one and the same.

Hi guys,
This is just peachy. I join AAR_Skeptics by clicking on the URL
provided in the e-mail. Great. So "go here," it says and I go there.
Bam, I'm there. So, how do I see the goddamn messages? Hmm,
I know, I'll sign in. I click on the "sigh in" gadget and it prompts me
for an ID and password. Password? What the fu... Nobody said
anything about a password. Who set this thing up, anyway? So, I
guess I'm a member but security is so tight that I'm not allowed to
know my ID and password. That reminds me of the story of the
paranoid security guards that invite people to their parties only to
deny them admittance. I'd appreciate it if someone would drop me
a line and tell me how stupid I am. Thanks.

You're not the only one that found the "login" experience too ugly for
words. I don't think I got it right- never cared to go back and find
out. Someday when I am feeling masochistic, I might try again.

Has anybody seen a post from Ben Hogan lately? Back on Monday in
message 3C15462B.594DE1D2@i... I
took a gamble and casually called him Darryl. Well he seems to have
vanished immediately after that. Maybe that was really his name. I'm
thinking he's hiding under his bed right now hoping the MIB don't come

Maybe he figured that no one noticed. Let's all call him Darryl and see

Check out ol' Twonky! He's even adopted the new name of "Twacky" that I
gave him!
I've been thinking about giving up my alt-atheism.org domain and registering
either 'kook-watch.org' or 'kook-watch-net'. I'm sure you've all noticed
how it irritates many of the kooks when they find out that their kookrants
have been turned into a webpage.
I thought maybe we could do this as a 'group dig' at the kooks. We could
all design and ftp in webpages and have email addresses like
mdavis@k... and the like!
Whatcha think? Might be fun and piss off the kooks at the same time.
