Subject: Strange email from Ben Hogan

Hello all,

I got the following strange email from Ben Hogan last night. Did anyone else get
one? Looks like the "Darryl" thing pushed him over the edge.

I didn't get any email from Ben, but I think the "Darryl" thing was getting
to him. Any time someone made a reference to his real name, he'd get quiet
for awhile.

I still he is a nut case, what is this about "real" identity, like he is
secretly an alien or something? His comments about his new group sound
elitest and rather weird... maybe he joined a cult? I did not get this
email, so Mike why not quote it as a new sig file :-)

Happy New Year to All

FWIIW, a new poster has appeared (Once, so far) on the UFO
UPdates list- A Jean Meiners who has a uswest.com addy (which
puts this poster on the right coast, anyway). Dunno if we are
looking at the same guy- and there are lots of UFO-centered list-
serves and private groups out there.

I'll watch for this guy and see if he starts exhibilting the same kook
qualities of Ben.

Bruce

Hi all,

The URL below was sent to me by midnyte (Twonky's main nemesis).
It really shows a scary level of stupidity. Has anyone else
noticed the number of people on Usenet from The Netherlands who
claim that physics is all wrong? JosX and about a dozen more of
Nutty Nancy Lieder's most vocal followers all post from there
too and they all also argue that Einstein was wrong, escape
velocity doesn't exist, etc., etc. The school system over there
really must suck.

Carl, can you think of a way to work this into Kook-Watch?

I'm not sure what the deal is with The Netherlands. They seem to latch onto
crazy ideas very easily for some reason. When I first went to Europe in
1978 on a REFORGER (REturn FORces to GERmany) exercise I ran into some Dutch
troops. They had a unionized army at the time, and they all had long hair,
beards etc. Got paid overtime for anything over 40 hours per week, and
lacked anything resembling discipline. In fact most of the guys I met were
AWOL at the time I met them. They decided to "take some time off in
Germany" rather than participate in the exercise.

Maybe their willingness to accept anything that comes along is a byproduct
of the ultra-liberal mentality they seem to have.

I'll add that to my list of KookLinks(tm)!

I don't know if anyone here reads alt.astrology, but Ed Wollmann has been
really putting on a great show over there! Looks like a total meltdown in
progress!

Yeah, I follow it. Ed has been putting on the same show on
and off for about 6 years now. It is quite amusing to watch
when he is active. Check out his whining in the abuse groups
too. It's a laugh riot. It's amazing that someone as stupid
as Ed can even manage to post to Usenet.

Carl,

I see Sir Horry is whining about our graphics. I have
smartened up the original one a little and uploaded some new
ones to the images directory to provide some variety. I have
also created a preview page so you can see them here:

LOL! I really like the last one! The eye peaking through the hole is
great!

I think ol' Horry is a bit peeved about the web site. I'll be sure to add
as many of his kooky posts as I can find just to piss him off all the more.

What IS this world coming to?

First, Charles takes the pledge, and swears he is a reformed
FTB. Now Wollman quits (Again!) If we are not careful, we'll
soon run out of Kooks!

Oh... wait! Thats the whole idea! (SLAP!)

First Spaz's wife told him to say that. Second Wollman has only quit what 18
or 19 times in the last five years... so Ya sure he is gonna quit...

>Oh... wait! Thats the whole idea! (SLAP!)

Problem is for every one that grows up, there are two to replace them...

I'm wondering if this "reformed Chaz" bit is on the level, or if it's some
kind of joke.

I see on Ed's web page that he's shutting down his astrology and publishing
scams. According to some of the posts in alt.astrology he plagiarized some
other person's book when he wrote his book. I wonder if that has anything
to do with his sudden shutdown?

Yeah, it smells like a troll to me. But then his whole
frothing true believer act smelled like a troll too.

The plagiarism is just one of Ed's problems. He has also
been operating an illegal counseling business, his web site
has other people's copyrighted material on it, he got tossed
out of two colleges after wasting five years taking woo-woo
classes in them, his crappy book isn't selling, his student
loans are no doubt coming due now that he isn't in school,
his car was recently vandalized, he had to leave San Diego
for some as yet unknown reason and fled to live with his
father in New Mexico, he has no job and no usable job skills
and no prospects. It really sucks to be Ed.

There is much speculation that he may be facing felony
charges from the state of California for running an illegal
counseling business and possibly other charges for running
an illegal business on SDSU's web server while he was a
student there. Time will tell what is really going on.
Somehow I doubt we have heard the last of Ed.
