Steve Wilson? Guys, a thought has occured to me but i cannot
remember through the hazy dimness of times past. It seems to me that a
Steve Wilson was one of those hero of Saturday movie for kids way back in
the 40tys. Like Don Winslow or the Long ranger, they would play a short,
10 minutes or so of a story... Any one have a better recollection than i
do?

You may be on to something here--the fictional
Bionic Man was Colonel Steve Austin.

I kept wondering why the name sounded so familiar--it's the same
kind of syllabilic alliteration. Steve Austin/Steve Wilson.

How's everyone enjoying "Dr. Reston Dane" so far?

I'm slowly ramping him up on the aar newsgroup, by having him seem somewhat reasonable and cozying him up to people like Charles Bohne. In another week or two, when Dr. Dane begins to post regularly, I'll start introducing the woowoo element of articles and books he's written or contributed to.

Pete Charest is doing great in giving the Dane nym his chops, BTW--the other woowoos will think it authentic if the Truth Terrorist gives him some grief: thanks Pete.

I'm hoping that we will be able to catch the saucerheads making such statements as "I read that article you wrote! That was totally true and insighful! Man, you rock!!"--which, since none of it exists, would be great fodder for the kook-watch site to show total gullibility in action.

John

oh, BTW--"Dr. Dane" is starting to get spam in his UK mailbox; isn't that SPECIAL?

I only use it when I'm not replying to a faceless attack by some Mike

LOL! He responds to Dane, who is obviously NOT a "MD lackie (sic)".

It IS a rather weird coincidence. IIRC, the posting host was MIS.net Ever
heard of it? Regardless, I hope the woo woos do indeed have a tizzy over
it! : )

BTW, I noticed that Dr. Dane is slowly wratcheting up R. Wolfe. Great job!

If it is not one of us, then something is not right here. I
suspect that whoever Jimbo was referring to, when he blamed Carl
for causing some woman all sorts of grief, is this character.

MIS.net is an ISP operating in Kentucky and West Virginia.

Well, Dane IS a bit of a stuffed shirt academic, after all.

I'm building the persona over time, so as not to make anyone too suspicious.
The Maritime law angle occurred to me as such a rarified area that NO ONE
would even consider questioning his credentials. You'll also notice that he
tends to take over the direction of the conversation.

So far Wolfe and Bohne have reacted pretty much as I expected them
to--notice that Robert seemed to shrink inside himself a bit when chided by
a University Don, and Bohne is trying to cozy up to Dane? I can hardly wait
to suck in more woowoos--right up to Wholeflaffer, if possible.
